Healing Entanglements in Families
Robert Rodgers
Abstract
A novel approach for healing entanglements in families is discussed in the context of Barbara Brennan's Four Dimensions of Humankind: physical, aura, hara and core star. This approach, known as Hellinger family constellation work, takes approximately one hour to complete and is typically done in a group setting where different persons become representative for family members in a client's family system. The theory that under girds family constellation work is discussed and predictions are formulated for each of the Four Dimensions. Moreover, the theory predicts an overall improvement for each Dimension, respectively.
This project formally assesses the outcomes of doing family constellation work for seven subjects who experienced a constellation of their family system during one of three workshops that the author facilitated in Lexington, Kentucky. Assessments of the outcomes are retrospective and consisted of the administration of a written questionnaire and an interview. Results of the survey supported all predictions. A definitive improvement was reported by all subjects across all Four Dimensions. Interviews with subjects are used to illustrate and supplement findings from the questionnaire.
